Anna DeJarnette is an associate professor of math education.  She earned her Ph.D. in mathematics education from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She studies students' mathematics learning through problem solving, groupwork, and opportunities for mathematical discourse. More broadly, she is also interested in students' development of problem solving practices across STEM contexts including science and engineering.

Professor Barnes has two primary areas of research interest. First, his research seeks to identify how genetic and environmental factors combine to impact criminological phenomena. Second, he studies the offender decision-making process in order to gain insight into the way in which offenders choose their targets. To that end, he has published in a wide range of outlets including Criminology, Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, Lancet, Nature Genetics, Psychological Bulletin, and Psychological Science.

Dr. Barnes serves in several leadership roles, including Director of the School of Criminal Justice, Editor-in-Chief of the American Journal of Criminal Justice, and head of the Criminology Team for the Dunedin Multidisciplinary Health and Development Study.

He is considered among the most influential scholars in the discipline (Journal of Criminal Justice Education) and in 2021 he was awarded the highest honor from the Southern Criminal Justice Association, the Educator of the Year Award.

Renee O. Hawkins

Renee O. Hawkins is Director of the School of Human Services and Professor in the Ed.S. and Ph.D. School Psychology Programs at the University of Cincinnati.  She is a Licensed Psychologist and Nationally Certified School Psychologist. Dr. Hawkins’ research focuses on identifying effective school-based interventions to promote positive academic and social emotional outcomes for children, including children with disabilities. She graduated from the APA-accredited School Psychology Program at the University of Tennessee, following completion of her pre-doctoral internship at Boys and Girls Town in Boys Town, Nebraska. In addition, Dr. Hawkins has served on the editorial review boards of several journals in school psychology and education, as President of the Council of Directors of School Psychology Programs, and as President of the Society for the Study of School Psychology.

Clair Green-Schwartz is a Research Director in CECH. She has worked in research (pre- and post-award), program evaluation, and data analytics for 10 years.  Currently, Clair oversees the Impact Accelerator – a research and grant development team dedicated to supporting and increasing external funding throughout the College and University.
