Financial Support
Students interested in graduate programs in the School of Education have access to a variety of financial aid opportunities. Read on to learn more about awards available to you.
Graduate Incentive Awards
All students admitted to the Educational Studies PhD program are eligible to apply for Graduate Incentive Awards (GIA), which provides funding to support the cost of coursework. GIA support is available to full-time and part-time doctoral students.
The School of Education also has a wide range of graduate assistantship positions available that provide a financial stipend to support student tuition costs. Graduate assistant positions include opportunities to be involved in teaching, research, and/or general program management. As such, graduate assistantships provide valuable learning opportunities in addition to financial support.
Doctoral Students
- Doctoral students who are in good standing, receive between 35-50% off tuition costs.
- In recent years, a ten-hour graduate assistant (GA) received $7500 and 100% of tuition costs.
- In recent years, a twenty-hour graduate assistant (GA) received $15,000 and 100% of tuition costs (if supported by a grant, funding may be more). Health insurance is available with potentially 70-80% support of the cost).
- In recent years, approximately 30 doctoral students received a graduate assistant position.
- In recent years, approximately 62 doctoral students received a graduate incentive award (GIA).
Master’s Students
