Our Mission
Our mission is to create meaningful, life-changing experiences for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) through innovative research, education and services.
The University of Cincinnati’s IDD Education Center provides life-changing programs for teens and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) to further their education, independence, and life skills. Program participants reach their potential and find their purpose in a community that accepts and supports them to be the best they can be. The IDD Education Center embraces the University’s strategic direction of Next Lives Here, breaking boundaries and providing opportunities for employment, social connections, and life-long learning.
Programs
Collaboration Employment & Education
Collaboration Employment & Education Synergy (CEES) is a program designed for high school students ages 14–21, offering real-world internship experiences that help them explore future career paths. The curriculum focuses on building self-determination, vocational skills, and strong social communication abilities, giving students the tools they need to grow more confident and independent as they prepare for life after high school.
Transition & Access Pathways
The Transition and Access Pathways (TAP) program is a four‑year college certificate program that offers students the chance to live on campus while gaining important life and career skills. Through academic support, career development, and opportunities to build personal responsibility and social connections, TAP helps students grow more independent and prepared for their future.
Impact Innovation

Regional Autism Advisory Council
The Regional Autism Advisory Council (RAAC) is a community‑driven organization that brings people together to strengthen support for individuals with autism. It coordinates trainings, educational sessions, and professional development opportunities, while also creating space for networking and resource sharing among families, professionals, and community partners.
